As some may be aware, as of a few days ago the City of Canyon Lake (Riverside County) started their own fire department. Riverside County Fire Station 60 has been renamed to Canyon Lake Fire Station 1.

I am curious if anyone is aware of how the new Canyon Lake Fire Department is being dispatched. I thought I had read that they have gone away from RVC fire dispatch, sounding like they are doing their own dispatching, although I could be mistaken. Anyone know?

Thanks!

Don't know if this going to help or not, these are licensed to the city of Canyon Lake. All three state they are for safety.
461.3875 Repeater
155.895
460.1375 Low Power

Do they have a private security patrol? Could be using that? One fire station wouldn't need much.
This might be a time to ring the door bell at the station and ask them.

Here’s a link to another article that also has some background links on the department. I can confirm they are dispatched on RRU 1 151.385 and use RVC Cmd 6 154.445.

I just heard at 1028 today, it referred to as “ Canyon Lake engine 201”. They do have multiple vehicles, two are regular standard fire trucks, one is for wildernesse/vegetation fires, and a command vehicle.

Canyon Lake Fire has been kind of busy. The contract with CalFire had station 94 (Lake Elsinore) and Station 5 (Qual Valley) also covering Canyon Lake. Now the one fire station is covering everything in the city; which is increasing response times. Of course for major events Calfire 94, 5 and others will be assisting them.
