CAP Flights over RNC?

I'm curious if anyone who monitors the military in the Twin Cities area caught any Combat Air Patrol flights during the RNC last week. I know there were some Coast Guard air assets flying around, the state police had a helicopter or two up and the National Guard was flying what was most likely a C-26 for aerial surveillance operations.

I ask because I never heard anything on the frequencies I was monitoring that indicated there was one. But on Thursday morning, around 09:40 AM, there was a flight of 4 F16's departing from MSP. I didn't know who they were or how long they had been there. Didn't have the scanner out so I didn't catch any call signs...

The F-16s were enforcing the no-fly zone for the RNC. In fact, they had to escort several small planes out of the area.

Also, the State Patrol did have helicopters up assisting with the protest operations. They were quite active on LTAC 3 communicating with officers on the ground.

Thanks very much. I was monitoring things from the Xcel Center, and did hear about one TFR violation, but never caught any of the CAP flights.

I heard the state patrol helicopter quite a bit. Never really heard any military stuff. I think i may have heard something very briefly that was encrypted on a frequency i have that is supposed to be the army national guard when i was in the st paul downtown airport area one of the days, but I'm not real positive that it was encryption or just noise since it was really quick and i was driving and didn't get a good look at the display.
