It appears that MN Civil Air Patrol has six or seven ARMER radios. I was able to monitor a radio exercise on TG 424 (DRO Tac 4). One operator appeared to be using one of the State ICS consoles. The next scheduled CAP net is Tuesday, April 4 from 6:00 - 6:20 pm on the same TG.

Listening to people read urls and random letters/numbers over the radio does not make for exciting listening. :)

I got a chuckle out of that and can't argue against your point.

I remember the first time I heard a "numbers" station on shortwave. Catching it was pretty cool, but monitoring wasn't terribly exciting.

Someone who is in the organization told me that they sent out a memo to radio operators that if their state was operating on a state trunked system, their headquarters considered it to be "illegal" - unless it was for liaison operations or for some reason on the Alaska system.
