Hi, I am trying to monitor a mall (Memorial City Mall, Houston, TX) in my area and running into issues making it work. There is quite a bit of activity designated as CAP+ with good signal of -50-60 db. Sometimes ENCRY flashes during transmissions. The issue is I don't hear any audio except for random blips of human voice. I've tried using the preprogrammed RR system as well as creating a new one. I've also performed a trunking discovery and found two more TGIDs which I added to the system. The system I created is programmed like this:

Type: MotoTRBO
Site 1:
- Frequency 1 = 463.8 LCN = 3 CC = 11
- Frequency 2 = 463.625 LCN = 1 CC = 10
Department 1:
- Channel 11
- Channel 13
- Channel 15
Unit IDs: None

I see Slot 1 and Slot 2 flash but not sure how to add those to the system properly.

Is this really encrypted? What am I missing?

Thank you very much for your thoughts.

Expected operation. Encrypted transmissions (this is reflected in the RRDB as mode "DE" or "TE" on any trunked radio system, P25E, DMRE or NXDNE on conventional frequencies) can't be monitored, PERIOD. Welcome to the RR forums.

Are these encrypted too? If not & if you can confirm their use, submit the update to the DB

Thank you for your response.

I am not sure if the talk groups I found are encrypted. I have a suspicion they are not because ENCRY does not flash, but I am not getting any audio. How can I listen to the non-encrypted TGIDs? (The new TGIDs I found are 13 and 15.)

Not missing anything, they are encrypted.
Got it. Thank you for the response.

Everything on that system is encrypted. Uniden scanners aren't 100% at identifying whether or not something is encrypted, add in RAS (which I believe this system has) and it's even worse.
