Cape cod fd's

This may be a stupid question but, I'll ask anyway. Can a motorola stx or scanner be programmed to pick up the cape cod fd's on the state police system in the southern worcester county area?

Thanks,
rj

If you're talking about the Worcester county trunked system (http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=TRSDB&sid=168) or the conventional systems in some of the towns (http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&ctid=1226) yes. If you're talking about something else, maybe.

according to Steve Johnson's website
http://users.adelphia.net/~kc1ho/ematrunk/msp/msp.html

you would have to monitor Zones 3, 4, or 6. Use the links that are on that page to get the freqs for those zones and then monitor them for a Motorola data channel.
If you can pick up those zones, you should get some of the Cape traffic. Realize that not every talkgroup is on every Zone.

You need to be in Zone 04 to hear all Cape Cod fire departments. You will/may hear Bourne FD in Zone 03. In Zone 06 you'll hear Provincetown, Truro, and Wellfleet, along with the County talkgroups. Zone 04 is the only one that will provide you with close to full coverage.
