For a number of months Cape May County Dispatch has been testing and using NJICS Talkgroup 4463 ("Cape May County Fire OPS 2) for automated dispatch paging, I believe the Locution product. This morning at 10am a dispatcher announced on Fire OPS 2 that the automated dispatches were immediately being moved to Fire OPS 1, NJICS Talkgroup 5527.

I've been monitoring the Cape May talkgroups since then and can confirm the automated dispatches are now on Fire OPS 1 TG 5527. I'm glad I caught the announcement as I didn't have Fire OPS 1 on all of my Unication knob positions and might have not figured out the switch for a while.

I will advise if there is a switch back to Fire OPS 2.

EDIT: THEY ARE BACK ON FIRE OPS 2. WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR

It's Phoenix G2, the one tone sounds like a class change bell.
Thanks! I'm old enough to have the bell tones remind me of the department stores like Macy's and Bambergers where the bell sounds like that were used to summon store employees to various locations in the stores.

Quite a bit of testing of the system today. Also, one EMS dispatch to an imaging center went out multiple times, with minor variations in the details. The responding EMS unit actually radioed "County, that call has gone out at least 8 times. Is there more than one emergency at that address?

Just an update: For that last several days all county comm center FD and EMS dispatches have been text-to speech on Fire OPS 1, Fire OPS 2, and on the usual two tone paging frequency 154.13. All dispatches go out on all three talkgroups/channels simultaneously (with a mild delay on 154.13 to allow for the tones broadcast.) No more "human" dispatches on 154.13. Still seem to be working through some glitches, like pages failing to activate on a West Cape May FD call.
