Repeater Networks LLC of Congers, NY, appears to be constructing a ConnectPlus DMR trunking system on frequencies it received as the winning bidder on a block of Part 22 (paging) frequencies for the Albany area. The FCC database does not indicate any license modifications that would seem necessary to operate a trunked, two-way radio system on these channels yet.

WQMX-625 covers the currently active (well, idling, but on the air) control channel at 454.1625 MHz. They have three other licenses covering blocks of the 454 MHz spectrum also. I'm watching the CC via SDR and waiting to see if there is any activity and, if so, what other frequencies become active.

For the DMR fans, the details:

454.1625 Con+ NID: 171 Site:41 CC:1 NL: 20, 22, 25, 40

It's not a new system, it's part of the OneVoice Network, which has been on the air for a few years at this point.

OneVoice Network Trunking System, Various, Multi-State - Scanner Frequencies

Goosetown has a site on Austerlitz, which would cover the area.

Now that I've given you these clues, time for you to go out and do some "Forensic Scanning"

PS - FCC call signs do not contain hyphens. The correct format is WQMX625, not WQMX-625

Hello,

I thought that System ID looked familiar...
OneVoice Network Trunking System, Various, Multi-State - Scanner Frequencies

Coverage Map
http://www.goiwt.com/dealer-downloads/OneVoice_Systemwide_Mobile.pdf

There are multiple system operators involved, so I am not surprised they are expanding the system up into the Albany area. Site 20 is listed as Loomis, Sullivan county, so it makes sense for it to be a neighbor for a Albany area site.

I have seen NID: 171 Site 61 and 63 that I suspect is in RI or SE MA. So the Network may be expanding up towards my way as well.

Thanks for the snarky reply. As you evidently did not read all of my message, let me repeat a relevant part:

"I'm watching the CC via SDR and waiting to see if there is any activity and, if so, what other frequencies become active."

Kindly check the attitude at the keyboard, son.

What modification is that? It's a part 22 license, so I don't think there are any modifications we'd see.

There is no Part 90 license. I would have to look at the NYSEG licenses again to see what, if anything, they had to do to construct their P25 system on Part 22 frequencies.

The database now contains the info I submitted on the Albany Medical Center Capacity Plus system, updated info on Watervliet PD's TRBO channel, and the Repeater Networks LLC site mentioned above.

Today I will be submitting info on a couple of DMR conventional repeaters, one on 461 and one on 853 MHz.

Slightly OT for this thread: I discovered that there are GPS bursts on some conventional analog voice repeaters (such as 461.325 MHz). The "RadioID" app on my iPhone showed me what they were.

So far, none of the local DMR systems are sending LRRP location data.

Dave,

I was getting hits on 454.16875 MHz. of a DMR control channel, also very strong in the Latham area. I'm not sure if it's another channel for One Voice, or if I'm slightly off frequency. The BCD396XT always seems to lock on 454.16875 during searches.

If you have the ability to monitor it, it sounds like Rensselaer County Family Court turned off their single channel LTR repeater on 857.2375 and is now using DMR. It's not a strong signal; I'm guessing lower power in downtown Troy?

As for the Part 22 rules, I believe once you buy the spectrum, you can pretty much do anything you want with it, as long as you fall within your spectrum range and market location.

Although I can't confirm it, the data bursts I hear on the Goin' Mobile LLC Bald Mountain UHF system (LCN03, 461.325 MHz.) might be GPS for the Northway Express (NX) buses. It seems to be a base-mobile pair using both 0-03-043 and 0-03-044 talk groups. Voice chatter between the buses was occurring on 0-03-042, with buses using 300 series numbers.
