Where can I get a power cord? TIA
You can pick this one up at Radio Shack. Get Adapt-a-Plug "B". I use it for my 396, BR330T, & 246 (I have two of the adapters; usually take 2 of the three scanners with me when I travel).

Link to order Uniden's cord here.

I have a few of these as well, they work good for the 330 or 396 without illegal voltage errors.

The only downside is they are noisy if you run the scanner audio through an external fm transmitter,so you can play it through the car radio.

FM transmitter power from a cig lighter plug. This RS adapter seems worse than other power adapters I have tried.

Maybe a battery powered transmitter would eliminate it.I'll have to try it.

Thanks for the tip. They're going for pretty short money on Ebay.

So the "ground" side of the transmitter is -12v, and the "ground" side of the scanner is -12v and you're shorting the cold side of the audio output (which is connected to the "ground" of the transmitter) to the ground of the scanner - which is probably what's causing noise. The cold side of the earphone jack is NOT at ground potential. (See all the threads about external power speakers and Unidens.)
