I don't believe they will go 24/7 MDT system... Are any of the Carbon County Police units using MDT at all.
Berks County does most of its calls MDT but than calls the unit "Check your MDT for message"

Even if they do go all MDT, there will still be plenty of interesting police activity to monitor (pursuits, bank robberies, etc.) as these operations will continue to use voice for obvious reasons. You just might miss out on some of the details of more minor incidents (barking dogs, parking complaints). But if the local PD in Carbon are like mine here in Berks, you can just go over to the local car-to-car frequency and listen to them read the MDT messages to each other!

Chester County is similar to Berks and Lehigh, though we don't have the advantage of the conventional side channels in most twps (other than Downingtown and Uwchlan) - all of the side channel traffic is on the MultiNet system...
