Hello everyone,
I was looking through the data base and did a TAFL search and found the following:
https://tafl.mckie.ca/?prov=ON&query=carleton+U
https://tafl.mckie.ca/?detail=0000719954&prov=ON
I am new to creating a Trunked systems in a scanner(436HP) These systems appear to be not included in the known Trunked systems in the Ottawa page on RR.
Are these 3 separate systems? It looks like there is some kind of MDT system and a paging system. Several of the frequencies are for the Class room mics for accessibility.

I'm here a lot
Take note if the frequencies you are getting hits on have DMR or CAP or CON on the display. I hope some other locals can help you out with this.

As far as I know there is only one DMR system. The rest of the listings are a mish-mash of FM broadcast and links, paging (at the site, nothing specific to Carleton), microwave, and some low-power simplex. The 763/793MHz stuff looks like LTE experimental.

There are a couple of low-power repeaters listed, not sure if they're active, and they are on shared channels which means other users to sift through; have not spent much time/effort on this.

Here is what I have for Carl U:

CARLETON UNIVERSITY
Cap+, 6666, 1, 1, 452.7125, 0.0, 0
Cap+, 6666, 1, 3, 469.0750, 0.0, 0

I know it is totally strange that they are using 469.075

Thanks for the advice! I will keep monitoring what I entered as a DMR system with all the 400 frequencies as the system. If someone has a better way of solving this let us know.

I don't know anything about the 436HP but there are listeners in Ottawa that can help you set up this system.

It does not have very much activity.

Interesting, 469.075 was input to 464.3000 when it was analog repeater, non-standard spacing but happens a bit. 464.3000 is low-power channel in Quebec including Gatineau, probably why they flipped low-high.

As for 451.8500 and 461.7500 I spent several hours trying to piece together activity on low-power channels like these, difficult as they have overlapping users, sometimes mix of analog and digital. TAFL for 461.7500 largely around Ottawa area:

https://tafl.mckie.ca/?prov=ON&query=461.750

Has any one heard any action on this system as is based on what is in the database? I have not yet but I am going to be monitoring at Carleton U as I can as I am a part time student and will be at school three days a week for the next four months.

The DB info looks OK as far as it goes but no talkgroups are listed. If you download the system or program manually with no TGs, you will hear nothing. Putting scanner in search mode for TGs will eventually show what's there.

Frank, please submit such information to our database admins. The wiki is not our database source, and it's not used for such submissions. Use the SUBMIT tab, which is right next to ON TRUNKING above the title of the trunk site.

I will have your wiki article on this removed. Thanks for your cooperation

Mike,
I am more than happy to submit this information. I was unaware that wiki pages were not for this kind of entry. Can you link me to the correct usage of the wiki so I do not make the same error again? Thank you.

Contains most of the Carleton University departments, Parking Services are yet to be identified but are most likely on the Turris Network.
I am not sure what this network actually has on it for users.

One might wonder why CU rents time on a wide-area Turris system when it has its own on-site
system no doubt optimized, especially for coverage in the tunnel system. Most looks
like temporary use including Frosh Week, possibly off-site coverage required. Some of these
may go away in 2-3 weeks, time will tell.

I used to listen to the start of year activity on LTR and Moto analog systems, some of the
goings-on were amusing.

On CU Cap+ system, seeing TGs 31 and 32, not very busy. DCC=12.

Dave,
Do you mind if I add those two tags into a new wiki for the CU Cap+ system? I will monitor them for the next few months from on site and see if I can hear enough to id them.

As you stated, for off-site coverage as well.

I guess there's a bus trip for them up the valley today and I heard mention of Wilderness Tours and a bus in Renfrew. That was on Ch. 4 from the Burnstown Tower on the Turris System.

I thought it was odd to hear that but it was what it was.
