CARMA Meeting Saturday July 14

The next CARMA Meeting is THIS Saturday, July 14. As usual we will meet at Phillies Pizza, 63rd & Kingery Hwy (IL-83) in Willowbrook. The meeting starts at 1:00 PM and the doors open at 11:00 AM.

145.770 is the official CARMA Talk-in for hams. 171.045 is the Wireless Mic channel.

Come hungry, you have to buy lunch and the food is wonderful!

Please remember to park on the west side of the restaraunt to leave the main parking lot for the rest of the patrons that are not staying for several hours!

What's the wireless mic for? Just a one-way broadcast of what's going on at the meeting? Will I be able to monitor it from Chicago (north side, non-suburb)?

The wireless mic is a low power transmitter used since the room we use has rather poor acoustics and we don't want to shout. Being a scanner club meeting everyone has a handheld scanner with them anyway, se we all tune to 171.045 and then just pass around the wireless mic during roundtable discussions.

The range on this is measured in feet and rarely would make 3 digits. You would be lucky to hear it in the parking lot much less the north burbs...
