Anyone coming out for the Carolina Balloon Fest this coming weekend, bring your radios

The main flying channel around here is 151.625. The most traffic will be heard on there. FRS radios are used with lots of pilots so be sure to listen on there also. The flying events committee uses 455.125 for comms around the field. Below is a list of frequencies that traffic may be heard on also.

151.5050
151.6250
158.4000
451.8000
456.8000
456.8125
455.1250
462.5375
461.1625
461.3375
461.3300
461.3125
464.3250
466.3000
467.9250
469.5625
469.5750
430.2600
431.4750
431.8750
438.1250
438.6250
464.3250
461.3625
461.7625
450.0000

I do not know what frequency that the people that run the festival use but it comes from a radio rental place.

Iredell County comms and usually on VIPER TAC 5 for events like this but it may change.

If the current forecast remains valid, and no wrenches get tossed into the machinery, I am planning to be there.
My most recent visit, a few years ago, did not include a scanner. I won't make that mistake again! Thanks for the list, but I do have a question . . . Have you confirmed related traffic on all of those frequencies? The 430, 431, and 438 entries look interesting.

Yes I have confirmed those frequencies. The top 7 are going to be used the most. The rest below are just Balloon Federation channels. They will most likely not be used

I know this is old, but public safety was using Statesville Citywide Event channel and I have the list of the frequencies that were used by the officials. The glow was conducted on 123.450 to talk to the pilots
