For the past few days I have heard what sounds like an open carrier on NJSP C3-01, ID 36496. It is heard on multiple scanners and in different parts of the state so I don't think it's a birdie or anything similar.

Maybe related, maybe not: yesterday I was getting an open mike on NJSP B3-01, ID 35664. This was definitely an open mike because I could could hear people talking in the background. I suspect this was coming from central comm as I could hear radio transmissions in the background.

There might be something on the Troop A Call talkgroup too, but I can't copy anything on A where I live.

Anybody else hear this and/or know what is going on?

It's happening again. No voice just an open carrier off and on for about 5 hours. The radio ID's as 5767. The low (4 digit) numbers tend to originate from the consoles.

I'm hearing it also and have been on and off for the last week or so, may be longer. I'm curious, NESN, what type of radio are you using that decodes the radio ID?

GRE PSR 600, RS Pro-197 (3), Pro-106. Yes, the GRE PSR 500 does it also. ID's appear only on Trunking systems though.
