Hey Folks...

I used to have a couple scanners back in the day, but in CT all the locals went "digital encrypted" so , I gave up on it and used my iphone app for those one off situations to hear local fire.

Now that I have recently moved to NH I want to get back into it and my research seems to how encryption is not implemented here.

So my question would be: What would be the best scanner for the Carroll County area? I am not up to date on all the trunking / digital specs on scanners, so any help would be appreciated.

I am looking for both a portable as well as a home unit.
