I verified today with my BC396XT Close Call that CARS 5 (new) is 851.725 kHz. with a 156.7 PL. This is a simplex Car-to-Car frequency. Location is position 7 on the APX HT.

Gene, is this on an RCS radio? My stations RCS radios got new CARS A through D channels. Do you have those? They are further up the 800MHz chain, same 8xx.725 though.

So it seems the "Interservices" channel (866.7250) is going away or moving to a new frequency in the rebanded world

After reading this, I see in the conventional zone that there is "RCS Access" and "Pink 3" Anyone know what these are and what freq to program in.

"RCS Access" is the post-rebanding name for SDMARS (will be 851.9500 whenever Mexico clears it). "Pink 3" is State Parks "Pink" (available in the RR database) post rebanding. We have not yet released the 8N1 (post-rebanding Conventional) zone for field use.

I heard SDPD northern dispatch ask if any day or mid watch units still needed their radios reprogrammed last week, any idea what they changed?

CARS 5 heard as P25 in north county, didn't catch the NAC...referenced on air as "Cars" by SO.

I was not in range of the city...they have no cars talkgroup, and referenced "cars" without a number or letter.

A sheriff's car driving next to me lit up CARS 5 on my 396XT...captured a NAC of 107.

It's simplex...the NAC is basically the equivalent of P25 CTCSS/PL tone. And NAC of 107 would not be the same as CTCSS 107.2Hz.
