Williams was arrested after a tipster who heard the police scanner broadcast reported that a vehicle matching the description of the getaway car was southbound on Highway 395 at Cradlebaugh Bridge. The witness followed the car until it turned left into a ranch's private driveway.

I am glad someone was able to give the location of this POS, and get him off the street.

Maybe more people will do this with scanners monitoring Police and the law agencies will see how much it helps them and agencies wont encrypt or agencies that are encrypted may give us a chance to listen to them.

LVMPD has been waiting for years to encrypt everything. The chiefs office keeps a binder of incidents where their officers have encountered people using scanner or modified radios to monitor police.
