Hey all,

Has anyone put up any CASCAR freqs yet in the DB somewhere? I confirmed a bunch of the drivers' freqs last weekend on the Mopar 300 in Calgary (as well as the pertinent Race City Calgary freqs, which I posted in Alberta). Not every driver was there, but at least 25-30 were, and I picked up a decent number of confirmed freqs. Interestingly enough, most teams are using DCS instead of CTCSS on their freq.

If one were to submit the freqs to the DB, where do you suppose we should put them? Anyone got any thoughts?

Hey Jay,

I saw this post sinking in the forum without any response. So, I had a look
on the 'net and found this link with Ontario freq's.
http://www.cascar.ca/drivers/frequencies.htm

As for where they should be posted, I guess they would have to go into
their regional locations for now.
I think we should petition LCB III and ask him nicely for a Racing Forum . Not only for NASCAR and CASCAR , but Formula One etc.. I really is a world-wide sport and radio is also a part of it .
Don't you agree ?

That's where I initally got the details from, and confirmed the hits with my 396's much quicker CTCSS/DCS decoding (compared to the 250).

A racing forum might be warranted, if we can generate traffic for it - that might be the hard part. As for storing the stuff in regional databases, it still begs the question, which region? I mean, they run in Toronto (during the Indy), Bowmanville (Mosport, at least I think they run there), Montreal, Calgary (Race City), and likely Vancouver (Indy), etc.

CASCAR is headquartered in Konoka, ON - should it therefore be posted in the Ontario group? What if a guy in Vernon going to this weekend's race wants to know the freqs and doesn't know to check there?

Do they not change from place to place, time to time, year to year?

I think this would be a good idea to have in the database somewhere. I'm really suprised noone from the states had asked for something like this before. Considering NASCAR is relatively large in the U.S. I've been to those races, quite exciting especially while listening on the scanner.

Whenever there's an accident or a bit of smoke showing, the person next to me is usually buggin to find out what happened. I usually just say you should've gotten your own scanner instead of laughing at me for actually having one during a race. :p
