Can you believe this? Union was just paged out on TWO separate calls within 5 minutes of each other. The first was, I believe, an 81yr-old female difficulty breathing, while the second was a younger female who had fallen. Busy times for the Union Rescue team tonight, but they'll be able to handle it. Nehawka is also lending fine assistance.
While listening to the communications between Plattsmouth and Union on Cass Fire, I noticed that Plattsmouth is talking to Union on Cass Fire WEST, while Union is talking back to Plattsmouth on Cass Fire EAST.
The result? As you'd guess - both repeaters on the air at the same time and nothing but interference while that's happening. It's gotta' be an issue, because the communications between Plattsmouth and the field units hasn't been extremely fluid.
Is this something that the Motorola consoles can be programmed for - to "steer" the dispatcher to handle communications through the same tower that the traffic is being received from?
Maybe it's a dispatcher training thing - recognition of which tower is receiving the traffic and switch your transmit path to that tower.
I'm not finding fault, but it's been this way since the day that Cass Fire East went on the air. Plattsmouth Dispatchers have a lot to handle, so I'm in no way criticizing them or anyone else! Just wanted to ask the question!
73's everyone!
