Catawba Co Comm Center Is Without Power

Dispatch center in Newton announced on the county fire dispatch channel that they have lost electricity.

Unknown if they are on a back-up power source, or using handhelds to access channels for fire, ems and sheriffs.

if they're anything like gaston county comms they have a generator but it might have failed. most dis[atch centers keep a HT for each of their main freqs so they ar probably doing bare bones ht dispatching
