• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Noticed today that Cavan-Millbrook fire (twp east of Ptbo) is using the 159.450 currently used by Asphodel-Norwood, Otonabee-Monaghan, Douro-Dummer, instead of the usual 155.535 frequency.

They were assising CKL Pontypool firefighters at a car fire on Highway 115 this afternoon, and after coming over the Pontypool tower, I noticed they weren't on their regular...but I could just barely pull them in on the new number, like I can the other fire depts.

Anyone shed any light on this?

ES

Also, Port Perry and Ramara Twp. (east of Orillia) are both fighting house fires currently, I posted on yahoo.

Put 153.935 in the bank as well. I'm thinking that 159.450 was the transmitting freq. to the repeater . Listen to them both and see which comes in stronger.
