I got a strange problem with my radio. Radio is a Cobra 29 WX NW BT installed in a 2008 Freightliner using the OEM cables and mirror mounts, K40 Plus dual antennas. My problem is they cal. fine and SWR is fine, antennas are tunable, but for some reason I get a red ANT warning light when I key the mic for channels above 5, 5 and below no warning light. I have checked the ground seems to be fine, the radio works fine, just annoying to get the red light every time I key the radio. Anybody have any ideas what is going on here.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I used the factory coax and antennas on a 2005 and soon found out I was much better of running a seperate antenna,too much interference with the am/fm radio and the cb using the same coax and antennas.Just my two cents though.................

What channels do you check your SWR on, Sounds like your K-40's are tuned to low. To start off duel antennas are not easy to tune. You should get your best reading on channel 20 say 1.1 to 1. Then check channels 1 and 40 which will have a higher reading, but will be about the same. If you can tune each antenna by itself it would help too.
Checked ch 1, 40 then back to 20. Can you check one ant at a time, how do you do that, just remove one then set it, then repeat for the other side. I wasn't sure if you could do that...

Since I have never match a duel K40, That is a good question. Do not do it the way you describe above, This will damage your radio. Find a friend with single mount setup for a k40 antenna tune them on they setup. This still might not help because of the lengths of coax may differ in each setup, but it is a good start.
