Is there any harm in keying up a CB when my Pro 96 is on?
I have a K-40 trunk lip mount and an external scanner antenna also with a trunk lip mount (other side of the trunk).
I've gotten some differing opinions on this so far ...

Thanks!!

I can pretty much guarantee you it's not going to be a problem. My VHF radio is 130 watts (your CB is 5 watts), and I key up on it all the time within 24" of five other antennas, including one attached to my BC780 scanner. The most that ever happens is it desenses the receivers, which isn't a big deal to me.

Basically, the most you'd have to worry about is the CB "muting" the receive on your scanner while you talk on it.

yea, i'll agree with that, i kick out 75 watts on higher power and have a couple of scanner antenna right near it for my PRO - 2026, and i've never seen any long term effects, as well as my dad had this scanner in his patrolcar for years as well, wich his uhf and later 800 mhz police radios/antennas near it as well, so this scanner has atleast 6 years of this continous abuse if not more, but still works great as far as i can tell...

Front End Damage

Thanks, guys.
I feel a lot better about it now.
As I told John Wayne, it was a guy I talked to at Scanex who got me worried about this in the first place.
