I purchased a CCrane EP Pro radio about a year and a half ago. Other than my GE Super Radio, it is my favorite AM Dxing radio.
Recently, it quit changing stations. I could turn the tuning knob and the dial would move, but the station would not change.
I contacted CCrane, but apparently it only has a year warranty, and they don't repair that radio otherwise (and it probably would cost too much anyways). They said I could try to repair it (thanks, of course I can) but offered no help in what the problem would be.
So I opened the radio up. The dial cord was connected correctly and was still moving the tuner (not sure if that is the right word). There was nothing on the board that obviously failed (nothing burnt). And again, other than not changing stations, the radio works perfectly. Any suggestion on what the issue might be?
Thanks in advance for any replies. I know the answer is probably spend the $99 and buy a new one. I own five of their radios and was a little (to put it mildly) disappointed that this one only lasted a year and a half. So I'm really not too interested in spending more money with them. It was a great radio when it worked however.
