• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I use Roxio and love it. Very easy to use and many nice features. I had Nero and it didn't play well with Windows XP-Pro. It wouldn't allow my web browser to launch, it would completely lock up my computer, and do all sorts of other nasty things. Installing the updates/fixes that Nero provided only made the situation worse. Uninstalling it didn't work either. It only partially uninstalled and only made my computer act even weirder. I was planning on installing a bigger hard drive anyway so I just installed the new hard drive, reinstalled XP-Pro, and have been using the current version of Roxio with no problems whatsoever.

Several of my friends had the same experience with Nero as I did, including the problems with the updates/fixes. One of my buddies, though, hasnt' had a problem at all with Nero and he's running XP-Pro as well.

The wonder of Windows..........
