I just noticed that under “All Trunked Radio Systems in Ventura County” in the DB that “California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation” (CDCR) is on the list. Yet under the CDCR trunked listing, Ventura County isn’t included in the “County” column.

The only CDCR facility in Ventura County, that I know of, is the “Ventura Youth Correctional Facility - Camarillo” a non-trunked facility. See “Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation” under “Choose Agency” on the State of “State of California Radio Reference” DB page. It’s the last entry. It is several miles from me and I monitor it.

Question: Why is the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation listed as a trunked system on the Ventura County California DB page?

Because its listed under the California state section as a statewide system, so it will display in every county.

You can see statewide systems on the California page

Systems that cover a large number of counties (in this case 17) are often displayed as statewide. CRIS is another example of a statewide listing regardless if the specific county has a CRIS site.

It's an explanation, but still doesn't make sense

Suppose a I'm a newcomer to scanning & RadioReference here in Ventura County. I look at the county page & see that CDCR listed. I click on it and go down the list of counties expecting to find "Ventura". Nada, Zip, Zero.

Such a person may find it difficult to trust the ACCURACY of further RR DB listings.
