CDF Fire Air tac question

does anyone know what airtac 21 and airtac 22 frequencies are,i thought i saw them posted before somewhere.

151.2725 air tactics 21
151.2875 air tactics 22

They are channels 130 and 131 in the CDF 2006 Radio Plan.

They are narrow band: Air Tac 21 is 151.2725 and Air Tac 22 is 151.2875.

Are those being used in SoCal? I believe I heard traffic on 151.2875 yesterday but thought it was interference from something else.

You will get interference on them since they are splinter channels, and narrowband, so neighboring signals will interfere.

There are such a limited number of them as referenced in the above post, and aircraft signals travel so far due to the nature of aircraft (high above the ground) that almost any air tactical frequency will get used in any area at one time or another.

Each area has their own pre-assigned air tac, however these areas are large and all it takes is two fires and they need to order a new one.

As far as I know right now there are no units pre-assigned number 21 or 22, they just use the original ones and those are used as overflow basically.
