If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi,

I have a LB CDM1550 radio that has its squelch set too tight. The squelch breaks at ~-111dBm or .63uV. I need to readjust the radio so squelch opens at ~-120dBm or .21uV.

Using a comms tester I read the radio using Moto's Tuner app (admittedly I have only used CPS in the past and have no experience using Tuner) and tried adjusting the radio's squelch levels. But no matter what adjustments are made the squelch never seems to change.

I first tried using the "auto adjuster" which made moderate tweaks to each of the 7 frequncies. But that made little-to-no difference. So I then tried making manual adjustments, and after several tries, I then began to make some extreme changes with the sliders, going to both extremes (low and high). But still the squelch threshold just does not adjust.

So I am wondering what I am likely doing wrong? After I hit the Program button (lower left of squelch adjust screen, and I close the window the radio resets and after I read it again and check, the squelch settings do seem to have been saved.

I wonder if anyone might have some friendly advice or a suggestion or two pointing out what I must surely be doing wrong here?

Thanks in advance.
