To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

When programming a CDM 1250 mobile radio, when the scan feature is disabled when there is activity on a scanned channel , my radio remains on the channel where there was activity and not the channel I previously manually selected. How do I fix this problem?

For example, if my radio is manually set to channel 1 and I am scanning, if I disable the scan feature while there is activity on a scanned channel, I want my radio to remain on channel 1 and not the scanned channel there was activity on.

Any help would be appreciated.

In the CPS, in the radio configuration menu and the scan tab, uncheck 'revert scan'.

" [x] Causes the radio to automatically move to the last landed scan - channel when exiting scan mode.
[ ] When disabled, the radio automatically moves back to the channel where scan was originally initiated"

Since that seems to be resolved I have another question regarding the same radio.

With MDC signaling enabled for receive is there a way to adjust how long the ID is displayed before the display switches back to the channel number? It seems to be a default of about 10 seconds and I cannot find any adjustment for it in the cps.

Thanks for any help.

Nope no adjustments can be made. It's 10 seconds w/o scan, and whatever the scan hang-time is if scan is enabled.
