Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a CDM1550ls+ that we tried to set to follow ignition only. Well that turned out to be a real bad idea. Now we can not get it to turn out at all. Does anyone have any ideas to get this thing to power back on so that we can change it back to on/off and ignition?

Are you using the proper pin on the accessory jack (pin 10) ? I don't know of any other was to turn it back on when programmed for ignition only. Another trick is a jumper between pin 7 and 9 with power applied to the power jack.

+12v to pin 10 should power it on, you'll have to leave it connected until you are done re-programming it. If you drop the 12v on that pin, the radio will immediately power off. I've set all mine up to use ignition switch and the power switch. Keeps this sort of stuff from happening.

Yes i am using pin 10 for the ignition. I tried jumpering pin 7 & 9 with power and it shorts my power supply out. Do you mean jumper the 2 pin (7&9) and power pin 10?

Yeah I have made sure that everything is connected and stays connected but it will not do anything. I hope that I do not have a paper wieght.

Just a jumper between pin 7 and 9 on the 16 pin accessory jack with power applied to the power plug of the radio.

Ok I got it by jumpering pins 7 & 9 and powering pin 10. you then have to read the radio and then write it with the on/off & ignition then power it on and it should work.
