I live in a remote part of Lunenburg County. The signal on the old TMR used to come through in my home loud and clear, but is spotty at best since TMR2 came on line, and that is on both TMR1 and TMR2. I can go up the road a KM or so and get 4 or 5 bars on my PSR-500 on both trunks. A friend of mine in Bridgewater area is having the same issue, so it appears the strength of signal on both trunks has been modified. Most of the posts here on radioreference recommend the Radio Shack 800MHZ antenna, but Radio Shack won't ship to Canada, and thesource doesn't seem to carry them, or much for that matter. I've got emails into Radioworld and Durham Radio on what they carry.
Any locals got other sources for antennas, or on what brand they recommend? Also what are your thoughts on a good base antenna? I'm sort of leaning that way as the stock antenna on the 500 works fine when I'm out and about on the highways.
