This morning am hearing some Cecil County Fire dispatches 46.180 simulcasting on the new Cecil County EDACS TRS system,Fire dispatches only.Med dispatches are not simulcast yet even though they share same freq.Nothing from ground units yet. Also only seems some of Fireboards dispatch coms are simulcast.Must be early stages of testing.
None of my scanners in EDACS mode is yet to actually decode system and can only monitor by listening to freqs in conventional mode.Does have tell tale EDACS beeps after each transmission by Cecil.

Cecil is doing alot more testing now... Listening in conventional mode you can hear some transmissions from field techs, giving a test code & GPS location and hear the dispatch response. Some transmissions are garbled with beeps afterwards.

Email posted on the bulletin board of one of Singerly's (Elkton) stations:

Training on how to use the new radios is being carried on this week at the new dispatch center on Chesapeake Blvd.

Tentative go live date is Monday, June 19th. Simulcast will be taking place on the TRS to mirror low band dispatches/traffic. Installation/deployment of new mobile and portable equipment to start on that date. Equipment installation scheduled to be completed by mid August.

New M/A Comm base station has been in the firehouse for several months. To date, I have never heard any comms over it. However, testing may occur during the day instead of the evening hours.

Follow up from my previous post.

Go live date is June 26th, not June 19th.

All other info should be on track.

My apologies for the wrong date.

Hello,
I'm hearing a fair amount of Provoice comms on the system today so this may be accurate.

I'll have to dig up some software to decode this flavor of CC and grab some analog TG's.

AFAIK Dave there's nothing on the net to decode ProVoice - at least, not in the hobby market, unless you're willing to shell out some big bucks for a license. Still good luck with this - I suspect, tho, that Delaware and Harford/Cecil county scannists are sadly SOL 73s Mike

Yea, I know there's no PV in the future.
I was just going to figure out the analog groups from Unitrunker or something newer that will decode this newer flavor of EDACS control channel.
My current software (or radios) won't have anything to do with it trunking wise.

I suspect all (at least most) LE will be PV. No great loss since I could not hear anything except Elkton anyway...

I'm thinking of filing a complaint about Cecil TRS system to the FCC.Seems like today when CC channel is on 154.8825 it interferes with reception for Maryland DNR SW 155.450 and some Marine VHF channels as well.Getting CC bleed over when anyone breaks squelch on those channels as well as others.
Can't believe Cecil allowed to use that high powered system without at least tone controls.
Anyone else having problem with this?

update: filed FCC complaint online, not sure if will do any good but hopefully I won't be the only complaint.

Excellent post JPS as a lot of good EDACS info here!

I notice the line about system "discourages scanners"
I hear already most coms on system are digital and not analog.

Also nice of them to post entire fleet Map.Maybe someone with pdf software can copy and post to RR board.

Official system name is VHF EDACS IP (tm) Simulcast Sytem with 10 C3 Maestro(tm) consoles.

This was posted on a public information site and I see no reason why it could not or should not have been posted. A great amount of information here and a great update from the radio system in the 60s when I was a member of Rising Sun Fire Co.

Question - are fire companies from the neighboring counties (Lancaster Pa, Chester Pa, and New Castle Del) that border Cecil supposed to get new radios as well? I have sick feeling that it's going to be an inter-ops nightmare, say, if Oxford (Chester 21) with their POS LTR system has to respond to Cecil 8 (Rising Sun) and can't communicate with Cecil due to the new radio system. As it stands now, Cecil 8, IIRC, has a Chester County radio, so they can respond when heading into Pa.
