Has anyone had any luck with bringing a scanner to Cedar Lake Speedway Race Track in New Richmond WI?

Never been to the race track and not sure if there would be anything to listen to!

Any frequency's or what to expect would be helpfull.

Sorry guys, I'm from Minnesota, we just got electricty a few years ago:)

Thanks

On a list that I had saved from 4m.net, they had Cedar Lake using 151.550 MHz. If that isn't correct, try searching 151-160 MHz or 451-470 MHz, scanning the itinerant frequencies, and using CloseCall/SignalStalker if you have it. I've put all the frequencies I've found on this page: http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php?title=Dirt_Track_Racing_Frequencies

It's definitely worth bringing a scanner to the track. When everyone around you is saying "why did they throw the caution" or "why did car 37 get sent to the back" you know why before the announcer explains it (if they ever explain it at all). Depending upon the track that you go to, the race ops channel can be quite entertaining while others are very professional. Some series like the World of Outlaws use Raceceiver which you can listen to on your scanner.

Please let us know what you find active at Cedar Lake so we can update the database.

Search the UHF frequencies between 450 and 470 whan you get there - You may be surprised at the number of teams using UHF like the Busch and Nextel series teams do.

Here's a somewhat complete list of Nextel, Busch and Craftsman Truck Series frequencies... some of the other series drivers, such as ARCA, also use many of these same channels...

Unfortunately, Cedar Lake is sanctioned by DTRA and WISSOTA, both of which prohibit team radios in the cars. They do have a provision in the rules that may allow Raceceivers to allow the drivers to listen to the officials. Since the Raceceivers are UHF-only, you'd have to look between 450 - 470 MHz to catch them.

454.000 is a popular Raceciever channel for some series.

Sounds good all, will take the scaner along to see what happens. Will post if I come up with anything. Although it does not sound like there will be a whole lot to here.

Are you sure that 467.600 is correct? That is a GMRS repeater input frq that requires a license.

This website says that Raceceiver is used at Cedar Lake Speedway:

Eldora Speedway in Ohio uses Raceceiver frequency 467.600 for their weekly series. The WoO Late Models and Lucas Oil Late Models use 454.000 for Raceceiver.

Well thanks all, we had a great time, can't wait to go back.

151.625 worked great and they also use 454.000 for the race recivers.

Yeah, they used 467.600 for their Raceceiver channel when I was there on 5/12/07. The only two series they had that night were the modfieds and the stock cars (both used raceceiver). See this press release where it says they use Raceciever channel 1409.

The main race ops frequency is 469.500 and 464.500 was a secondary frequency. I don't know if these same freqs are used for big events like The Dream or the World 100. They notified the fireworks guy on 151.625 during the national anthem when to trigger the fireworks.
