I am getting a Cyfre Poconos cell phone amp. I will use the 6db trucker mount outside for the input. What gain antenna do I need to use inside?

I want the amp to cover the entire length of the trailer, 80ft. I searched the net for "cell phone flat panel" and 800mhz flat panel and could not find anything less than $1,200.00.

Please advise.

You are aware that unless you are the licensed cellular carrier doing the install that these are illegal in the US?

Yes so! Read more carefully!

Jesus....I thought you got banned.

I will address the issue though. I am a authorized dealer of the Wilson Electronics cellular repeaters. I have installed many and know a bit about the process. I have formal letter that was prepared by a attorney stating the legal issues with installing these devices. Particular attention is called to only repeating the signal from the service provider in your own building and area. I will be happy to scan the letter and post a copy here. It is not illegal to own and operate a device that repeats cellular signal for your personal use. If you employ the product improperly though that is were it can get complicated and there in rare cases could be issues.

so yeah, any help on the antenna?

The model that you are looking at will not cover the area that you need. You will need a higher gain model amp and a yagi style antenna outside to cover that kind of area. I can suggest a wilson 50 db single band amp and a dome indoor antenna with a yagi mounted outside. This will get close on covering the trailer. It may take 2 indoor antennas to do it.

not so. Read more.

I have been.

I'll raise your lawyer and throw in some representatives from Cellular companies, Cellular repeater manufacturing companies, Public Safety users, and two way radio manufacturers - all of whom are pushing the FCC to put more teeth in the existing rules and laws.

Fascinating reading! I pity the technicians that have to chase down poorly installed repeaters, especially those that the cell company had no idea about because they were installed by those that aren't licensed for the frequencies.

I have contacted Wilson Electronics and they are preparing a in depth document on this subject that addresses all aspects of the issue. I will share it with the group as soon as I get it today.

If you were trying to forward me to a message it appears you must be a member of that yahoo group to view the messages. And no one would refer to you as God, you must be having that reading comprehension problem again. How did you get back to being able to post? I swore I seen that you got "banned for the greater good". What happened to the greater good?

how about the moderator delete all messages but the ones that pertain to my original question, about the flat panel antenna and 80ft length? that would be awesome!

No.

How about you first use the proper method of reporting problematic posts. If you don't know how to do so, I suggest you read some of the sticky posts in the forum where you improperly posted your request for someone to answer your question.

You are very close to incurring an infraction, please don't take on the role of a moderator and what the staff and administration does with other members is of no concern to you; IOW keep your nose out of business that is not yours.

Despite the ambiguity of the issue, none of you (to my knowledge) have the authority nor the power to enforce the applicable rules/laws in regard to utilizing such devices as the OP wants to install; so zip it. If you think someone is going down a path that will lead to legal troubles, then just don't supply helpful or harmful information (IOW don't reply). If you want to be helpful to the OP's cause then do so without wandering off topic, if in the future a court wants copies of any communications or discussions in regards to illegal activity, the site will be glad to comply with such court ordered disclosures.

With all that said, I think that the OP's question was answered but I think he asked a followup, if anyone wants to address that followup do so; however, stay on topic.

Read the reply to your PM. Posturing in public seems somewhat counter to what you specified in your comments there.

First of all, I am in no way your "buddy". Your premium membership has no relationship to the RR forums, it strictly gives you privileges on the database side of the site. It gets you no special protection against being corrected when you are in the wrong, nor does it provide you any special status. As for you not posting any more, that is entirely up to you, as of now.
