Does anyone know what the frequencies will be? Are they going to be new ones, using the fire frequencies or AMR frequencies? I’m unable to find anything online regarding this and I’m already seeing the AMR Ambulances on the road with the new graphics. So there already in service.
The San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors voted 4-0 to approve a contract granting CENCAL Fire EMS Authority exclusive operating rights in the cities of Lodi, Stockton, Tracy and Mountain House, as well as in the unincorporated areas around them.
With the approval, CENCAL will provide ambulance services from May 1, 2026 through May 1, 2031.
Under the contract, American Medical Response will staff and operate ambulances through CENCAL, a joint powers authority formed by the South San Joaquin County Fire Authority and the Lodi and Stockton fire departments.
AMR currently has an exclusive contract to operate ambulances in the three areas that expires May 1, 2026.
“Now our dispatchers will be able to talk to our ambulances and our fire engines, and our fire engines will be able to talk to our ambulances.” “On our tablets, we’ll be able to see where our ambulances are and where the fire engines are. There will be on-scene coordination between the two that we do not have right now.”
