E34 - Moderate to Heavy smoke in the attic space, no fire found yet. Crews are opening up now to find the source.

Still looking for a source of smoke, releasing some units now. Additional units are now enroute to I-25 SB SOF C-470 for a reported extrication accident.

M32 advising no extrication needed now.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY - Firefighters were trying to find the source of a fire Wednesday that started around 7 a.m. at a restaurant.

The fire was at J Alexander's Restaurant, located at 9709 E County Line Rd., near the Park Meadows Mall. A person inside the restaurant saw smoke and called the fire department.

Andy Lyon, a spokesperson for South Metro Fire, says the fire was inside a wall of the restaurant.

Firefighters were able to pull apart the wall and knock out the fire fairly quickly. Firefighters could be seen on the roof for the next hour pounding away and removing insulation in order to reach the fire to ensure it was extinguished.

Smoke from the fire filled the restaurant, but the dining area did not sustain any fire damage, according to Lyon.

A spokesperson for the restaurant says they will be closed for lunch while they wait for a building inspector. They say there is a chance the restaurant could open for dinner, but they continued to assess the damage.

Authorities were working to determine the cause of the blaze.

No injuries were reported.
