I was wondering if Center Point's talkgroups on the SmartZone TRS are just simulcasts for mutual aid or if they actually have 800 band radios. I have noticed VHF & 800Mhz antennas on their Rescue trucks.

Center Point Fire

I live in Center Point and listen to them as one of my "Priority" agencies. So far, I haven't heard, seen or identified and UNIT ID NUMBERS for the Center Point units and the lack of those ID's indicates that the 800mhz county system is only a "Simulcast" of the VHF Dispatch channel of 151.160mhz. If there is someone out there that knows more about their radios I'm interested to know more.

Guess those HT's are for mutual aid or whatever. I know for a fact they use VHF for most everything, I've heard em in talk-around mode at a working fire on 151.1600Mhz. I don't know when they do their weekly radio checks, I want to say Saturday or Sunday morning. I've often wondered why they don't test every evening like Concord and so many other departments do.

Thanks for the unit ID's. Here's how the Channel lineup goes, I think.:
KRC845
151.16000 PL:192.8 Channel 1 repeater out
151.16000 PL:192.8 Channel 2 simplex "talk-around"
154.26500 PL: 94.8 Channel 3 simplex tactical
153.89000 PL: 192.8 input to repeater (Center Point)
153.89000 PL: 141.3 input to Clay repeater

They aren't licensed but at least some of their radios have Trussville Fire's frequency and their digital squelch tone. Heard em talking to Trussville during that fire on Brentwood AVE last month. I suspect they also have other VHF frequencies as well: HEAR, StateNet, ect.

is the qutput tone for the clay rpt diffrent than the main tone (192.8)

they are pob.using an arc controler that patches vhf to 800 mhz

i have seen a few at my local vfd that are also simulcasted on 800

The output tone is the same for the CP & Clay repeaters. Unless you are in or very near the Clay area you can tell which one they are using, signal is noticeably weaker on the Clay repeater.

Yeah I hear that "KRC845 Center Point fire testing with all stations" all the time. I was talking about the test where every base / mobile / handheld talks back to Fire Alarm. I've heard it a few times when I used to get up earlier. I know it was Saturday or Sunday.

City: Birmingham, AL - Conventional Repeater - FM Digital & Analog Voice (P25 & Analog)
Call sign: WPSK431-GE: Center Point Fire District
Government Entity: Radio system will be used for official and essential communications
Output:856.5875
Input: 811.5875

This is a conventional repeater.
I just heard voice traffic on this frequency Sun., Nov. 20, 2011
I am not sure if they were using a PL tone or not.
I can't remember if they were using analog or digital voice or both.
They did not appear to be connected to the B,ham TRS system.
