I remember reading somewhere that there will be a alphanumeric paging system, but I don't know who all will be using it. However, even if they don't, there is a new paging site atop the Ford building on campus to get rid of any RFI problems they have downtown.

Back in October 2013, there was a lively discussion regarding
paging for the new county system. I guess no one has had a chance
to sniff it out.
Looks like the most promising frequency is 460.6125 as previously
posted by several. There is two licenses that have the proper emission.

The issue with the paging is downtown State College. There are times that Alpha FD has been paged and their pagers have never gone off downtown. There have been times where Centre LifeLink EMS has been paged and if their crews were at the hospital, they had no activation.

Centre County is adding Fire paging (453.9750) and the NEW EMS paging (460.6125) at the Ford Building on PSU Campus to help supplement the dense building areas.

The new EMS paging freq will also be simulcast off the same towers the fire paging uses county wide. No more need to select different towers when paging.

As of today, 6/12/14, EMS paging is being simulcast from E DISP TG across all Med 9, Med 10 towers and the new UHF EMS Paging frequency until all EMS companies can get their new pagers or update their current ones to the new paging freq 460.6125
