• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hi folks,

We've started to receive a few database submissions for a new "Centrunk (CTRS) system" which which is being reported as a P25 VDOC system (Voice and Data over Control) - basically single site Project 25 trunking.

I've received a few submissions for areas around Austin and Tampa Florida and even Australia, but we've never heard of this system, this technology being deployed. Occasionally, we do have to deal with people submitting data to us that is just completely made up, etc.

So, does anyone know anything about this company, system, project etc?

VDOC is not exactly a new concept.

This has raised my curiosity. I think it is a private system being formed by some individuals. It may have been demoed at Dayton. I say, put it up and see what it becomes.
Correct, while it wasn't the CTRS system thats here at dayton. The same tech is being used.

The system at dayton is ran by the P.24 group, and is the sister system to CTRS. It also serves as the development test system for the software and firmware in use

Now now, lets try not to be too rude. XD

This is really odd. A member with a different user name posted this exact same message.

You certainly don't have a duplicate account do you? Because that is against the Radio Reference rules (unless approved by the staff).

I never mentioned a conspiracy, you did.

Fair, I've had some folks on CSF (btw you can find the CTRS and P.24 projects on there) freak out at duplicate accounts.

But yea the other one will go poof when I get back from Dayton.

Im not going to get crazily involved in this argument. Everyone can think what they want to. But I am very good friends with the creator of CTRS (Central Texas Trunked Radio System). He currently has a site in the Austin Texas area and its operational. CTRS is a linked VOC (Voice on control channel) trunked system. We have fun with it, we are all radio junkies just having fun with a trunked system that we can play with on our own. Nothing is whacker about having a trunked system to play with. What is whacker is having a rack of scanners and streaming it online to aid criminals in illegal activities. All Im saying is its real, and we have plenty of proof to prove it. The evidence is here: (38) anonymous alligator - YouTube . Take it or leave it.

"also going to add to this, along with putting my callsign where my mouth is

i help administer this system, and can tell you it's real. It's a place where you can play with a trunking system and not be breaking the law by affing to a PS system.

most of our users implement Voice on Control on custom firmware hotspots, which allows for connection to our network. Some have taken it a step further and expanded their sites into full higher power trunking sites. Personally, I use a two hotspot combo to give me a control and voice channel.

I can literally post a video of myself passing traffic through my site if that will get all you scannerheads off our asses.

Let people have nice things."
