Certain P25 systems not decoding properly

I'm getting lots of unusual errors on multiple trunked p25 phase 1 voice strong signals and a particular system which is the Connecticut state police primary system that is a motorola type 2 trunked system with p25 voice I have to turn off shaping filter for it to decode the voice properly which I found weird. The ones that are true p25 systems with p25 control channels have random errors that pop in the scroll log now but voice is mostly fine with some errors.
