Certain PD Using Direction Finding Equipment

I don't want to compromise any investigation, but I've heard a particular PD using direction finding equipment and reporting signal strength and directions all morning.

I have no idea if it's LoJack (I'm not sure how that works) or some kind of decoy (like a bank dye pack)....

I missed what the original call was...

Can anyone shed some light onto this or what may be happening? If you know what I'm referring to and don't want to mention it publicly, can you send me a private message?

Not for sure there, but from where I live the only time police use yagi antenna's is when they are tracking down people with old timers that had a tracking device on them like DNR would for animals.

There are many agencies that use various methods of tracking down either suspects or vehicles. Thanks for not posting specifics as that could compromise an investigation. Email me and I will try to help you narrow down what you heard.
