I have a CF-31, and the USP port on the side works fine when it isn’t docked. (Jotto / Kodiak) But when it is docked, none of the USP ports work. On the computer or on the docking station.
Is there a setting or something I am missing?

Just a few thoughts, are you using the power supply for the docking station? Looks like there may be different model docking stations for the CF-31, but just doing a google search seems to show they all seem to use external power in order to operate.

If it isn't that, it could just be a faulty docking station, or bad connector/connection/circuit in the docking station itself.

Could also be a driver related thing, but that might be a stretch. Look at the device manager if you are using Windows and see if there are any devices needed drivers.

If you have the Gamber Johnson model, you might look at this:

Thank you, I am using the Jotto desk / Kodiak docking station.
I did get the port to finally work on the laptop, but it doesn’t recognize the ports on the docking ststion.
I am pretty sure i’ll need to D/L drivers and most likely a program / firmware addition to be able to get the ports running as they should.
Internal power supply is intact snd working well, we even opened her up and looked her over real gold. Very feature rich docking station. (but a pain in the butt to dock it right!)
If anybody else has s trusty CF - 30 computer, and especially one with the Jotto / Kodiak do king station, I would like to dhare info with me, I would appreciate any assistance you could offer. Thank you!

Well, I did find this, perhaps the bit of info might help if you didn't already find it.

Got any LED light activity on the dock, and if so, what color?
KDCF53KDCF53DOCKING STATION DIAGNOSTICS
The KDCF53 120w Power Supply board has built-in power indicator LED’s
that can help you determine if the docking station is functioning properly. To
access the required area of the board, remove the access panel, located on
left side of the dock. The indicators are color coded and indicate if specific

functions are either receiving input power or producing output power.
Example:
If the +12vDC ignition circuit is not connected or the ignition fuse is blown
the Orange LED will not be illuminated. By simply observing the state of the
LED you can quickly determine if the docking station is receiving voltage or

not.
LED INDICATOR COLOR CODES:
INPUT POWER LED COLOR REF
+12vDC (un-switched power, or A+) RED D1
+12vDC (switched, or ignition power) ORANGE D7
OUTPUT POWER
+15.7vDC (laptop charging circuit) GREEN D6
+5vDC (USB, Ethernet power circuit) YELLOW D2
All four LED’s should be illuminated when the docking station is powered

up. If you don’t see all four LED’s there is a situation that is preventing the
docking station from functioning properly. Please use the chart below to
determine the cause and effect of the described situations:
1. Laptop computer won’t charge. Check to see if the GREEN LED is illuminated.
If it’s not, check Output Fuse.
2. Docking station turns on for a brief moment, then shuts down. Check to
see if the ORANGE LED is illuminated. If it’s not, check the Ignition Fuse
and check to be certain 12v is present at this circuit. (This condition may vary
depending on the settings of your shutdown timer. The docking station will power up

and then start the shutdown timer. Docking station will remain powered up for the

pre-set time then shut down if the Ignition Fuse is blown.)
3. Docking station will not power up at all. Check to see if the RED LED is
illuminated. If it’s not, check Main Power Fuse and check to be certain that
12v is present at the circuit. Laptop must be docked.
4. Ethernet will not function. Check to see of the YELLOW LED is illuminated.
If the LED is illuminated and the Ethernet will not work, you may need to
install the Ethernet driver into your computer. Drivers are available on the

Kodiak web site. UPDATE DRIVER TO INTERNET

I appreciate that, I will look into that this afternoon.

Yes, first two green lights are on (Power and Dock) And it is charging.

Didn't think about having to add SW/FW to the laptop to "talk" with each other.

Just tried it myself, the driver download seemed to work for me. Which one did you need?
Also, did you check device manager first to see if any devices didn't have drivers installed when the docking station was attached?
