I'm pretty sure it did. I know when we were listening on the CFD radio last night, it should have been. Interesting conversations though

36 will have a pump and be the water rescue station. The water rescue team is more than 4-5 personnel, so it stands to reason that there will be more trucks than that in the station. My suspicion is an aerial.

The halls will be renumbered by the time 36 is built; it's likely it will become 3 and 3 will become 36, or something along those lines.

Couldn't reply off my blackberry ... not sure why.

As far as the new station downtown goes, anything is really more or less speculation and guessing. There's no indication yet as to what will be happening.

The same goes for CFD ordering new units. They don't generally announce that to the public when they purchase or when they accept delivery. The best thing you can probably do is watch Citybeat - if CFD deems it newsworthy enough for the public to know about, it'll be posted there.

I show 2 Pump as still having the regular old P0398, and 36 Pump still using 14 Pump's 4-year-old P2604. Maybe a squad was in the house.

The only truck that's new is P4706 which will be put into 33 Station in short order (on a matter of weeks if not days).

Wow, 33 is that close to being operational? I'll have to take a drive over and check it out.

Will it just be a pump for now? Or will they add something like a bush buggy to it - seeing as there is little else to choose from in the fleet.

I heard one of the squads over at 33 today doing something - likely stocking the station and preparing it for service.

I don't know what the plans are for 33 other than a pump. A bush buggy would generally have to be run by another rig - they don't staff BBs with a dedicated crew, it has to be with an aerial or tanker usually.

The one option MIGHT be the tanker out of 29 moving down, but I really think it would be better served going up to 35 when that station gets built, because there are more in-city "non hydrant zones" like the wilderness-y area around COP and Stoney Trail etc. up that way. The areas without hydrants further south towards where 33 is are out of the city, which CFD is trying to get away from responding to.

EMS has ideas of putting at least one and maybe two ambulances in 33. I don't know how quick that'll happen, but we'll see.

I'm guessing you are back at work Jay?

You need to tell the current CFD dispatcher that she is extremely quiet and nobody can hear her. :D

Yeah, that'd definitely be a new one.. mea culpa.

It might be down at the Rayton building (a warehouse CFD leases space from to store some stuff).. think I see an old emerg behind it.

I don't know; I think it depends on the $ available. You'll notice that the one I mentioned for 33 is a 2006 truck (P4706), probably bought with 4806 (34 Pump IIRC). All four emergencies were bought together, but there have been other purchases that were one-offs.

I like how that new pump has a CFD logo on the roofline and not the truck name. It looks like they've made some other cosmetic changes to the striping as well.

ENGINE 4, did you email the guy who took that picture and see if he had any more or any other info?

Alrighty, http://groups.msn.com/OttawaFirePics/calgaryfiredept.msnw,

Still no word on the new Engine(s) but i have got another guy to post some of his pic's in the folder labled "Calgary Fire" (or something like that).

I have posted a few of my own ( 9 lame pic's), so they other guys pic's arn't up yet but should be in a little while (maybe a day or 2).

So keep checking back for up-dates, and i am still trying to crack open the new Engine(s) thing.

thanks
