CFD units responding to EMS plan told to use Citywide Special Events 5

I'm told this is a simplex 453 freq - so it's not one of the digital 470 channels.
However, this is the first time I can recall I've heard this... and I've listened for a long long time. Yes, planned events may use this freq, but I've never heard of a non-planned event using it.

No not yet sixty-two...don't panic...LOL ! Their has been some problems with the EMS Command Channel documented during large-scale events. They are now reccomending we utilize Special Events 5 during EMS Plans etc. Yes I hate to say this too, but do to the fact it's low-powered and the bosses know it, means the press can't be listening...heard this from a white shirt. Info is in RR Database.
