Some questions...

Do you know what these units are? They use PATROL 2.
5Mary#'s
5J#'s

Has anyone ever heard if TG 21511 is PATROL OPS 6? I've seen Pro96com log it with Parkland PD radios using it but have never caught them say "flip over to OPS 6" so I can know for sure.

I'm sorry i'm still confused please help me
What aspect are you confused about?

I was able to play around with a CPD radio and they have Patrol Channels 1-5 and Patrol Ops Channels 1-6. As well as the incident channels and a couple of the fire talk groups.

So there are still some talk groups that are on the system just currently not being used.

Correct i believe that bank C is nothing but the Patrol Ops channels 1-6. I would guess that all of the radios have all 6 of the ops channels and each department has their designated channel.

I should try to check out one of the parkland radios and see if they have the same or if they are different.

5J#'s are Corrections units (Jail), I am pretty sure that 5Mary#'s are Court Service Officers aka probation. KC8RFE are you sure that they didn't have Patrol 6 also?

There could have been a patrol 6 but i don't remember seeing it. i do know there were 6 patrol ops of course. I thought to myself weird there is 5 patrols and 6 ops. so i might have missed it.

i wonder if they will use an incident channel for all the unofficial ops this weekend.
Last year they used INCIDENT 4. I assume they will use it unless they would use INCIDENT 5 if there is information they don't want everyone to hear.

Your probation officer finally catch up with you?
Haha...I was hearing a CPD officer on PATROL 1 asking if county had any probation officers available and then I was hearing a 5 Mary unit on PATROL 2 coordinating with METCAD and when the CPD unit said that the probation unit had arrived I heard the 5 Mary unit say he was 10-23.

INV talkgroups

I heard a CPD unit request another to switch over to "INV 1" and I then heard encrypted traffic on TG 21536. Also, I saw in the Pro96com log some Rantoul units on TG 21540 (encrypted) so I'm assuming this is INV 5.

That would make sense. I'm sure there is an invest 3,4 and 6 as well. Since all the other patrol, ops channels have 1-6 as well.

I guess they created a patrol 3,4 in case UPD, UIPD, and CCSO ever decide to be dispatched independently.

Just a heads up Arrow Ambulance and Pro Ambulance will soon have their own 800 mhz talkgroups. Arrow Ambulance will have Arrow Dispatch and Arrow Ops 1. Pro Ambulance will have Pro Ops 1. Also there will be a talkgroup for EMS Mutual Aid. Heard Pro testing EMS Mutual Aid about a week ago. So start hearing for those talkgroups to be testing.

Also, I have submitted updates to the County Fire and City Fire radio identifiers to exactly what they are and what department. I will hopefully have the whole county done soon.

I heard the radio shop testing a radio with METCAD on 22018 and 22019 (ENC). They referred to Pro so I believe these will be Pro Dispatch and Pro Ops respectively.

I saw Pro was using 22018 yesterday and announcing when they were going in route and on scene. They were still being dispatched on the FD Dispatch TG. I did not hear the talkgroup being used today however.

8989 and 8975 were working off TG 22018 today but other units were still on the UHF. From what it sounded like they are using portables and they are not dedicated to a specific unit, or at least not yet. The Id’s that were showing up had been the portables that other units had been using to talk on the fire talk groups.
