I just updated my WS1098 Scanner. Its been about a year since I did it last time. After my upgrades, the WS1098 now displays "Scanlist 153, Scanlist 001" etc. It displays a bunch of Scan lists? Is there a way for the Scanner to display the Frequencies? or display "Fire", "Police"?

Also I followed all the instructions while updating and in the " DSP" upgrade, my scanner will not go from 3.1 to 3.2? I downloaded the DSP Updater and it still reads 3.1? I tried to also update the DSP in the EZ Scan Software by clicking on " Updates" then to "Check all updates", but the same thing, it shows to download the DSP Update but for some reason the scanner never takes it?

I did I do something wrong?

Scan list display

Check in your EZ Scan program in the General Settings tab toward the bottom right corner there is an option “Set Location”. Make sure that is set to “On” and then copy your configuration to the scanner.

With the Set Location option turned off, scan lists 151-200 are unlocked and you will be able to rename them. With the option turned on, the scanner will automatically name them to be used with location based programming.

Many thanks to Bryan Hawkins at Whistler who supplied this answer to me a couple of years ago!

I am not clear on what your issue is here. But you should set Location to Off and then manually enter an Alpha Description for each Scan List you want to use. Else you just get a description titled Scan List xxx. I have attached what mine looks like with Location Off and On. Hope this helps.

kmh603 - you have to program both the EZ scan app and the Scanner - playlists tab.
once you have programmed in the County or Cities in Playlists , then you can go and program in the Accociated channels (analog) as well as Digital and D- Trunking frequencies.
it may be best to UPDATE the Scanner first then reformat the SD card , then plug in all the stuff you want to listen to.
