Changes Coming to Montgomery County Police Districts

Effective Monday February 4th, 2013, the Montgomery County Police Department patrol district boundaries are changing. Attached is a map showing the new layout.

1st District: Now encompasses the western most part of the County to include Poolesville (used to be 5D Germantown). This is a CHANGE to Loudoun County and the southernmost part of Frederick County.

2nd District: Now extends west to includes Great Falls (used to be 1D Rockville). Change for Fairfax and Loudoun Counties

3rd and 4th Districts: COUNTY borders remain unchanged.

5th District: Loss of Poolesville, see 1st District above.

6th District: Has no COUNTY border.

I have the map available to send out via personal email. I will also add it to the chm facebook site.

This really is very unfortunate for me....I live out the Poolesville way, which has been moved to the Rockville Dist.

Now. if I want to hear whats going on, I'll have to listen to everything going on in Rockville, which is a far busier district than Germantown. The stuff going on in Rockville will never interest or even effect me, as I never travel all the way down there.

It doesn't, Montgomery County boarders Virginia along the Potomac River. The map attached to the first post is a little deceptive at first glance because the river isn't clearly represented.

MOGO Changes

I'm a bit new to the area and was wondering why the jurisdictions goes all the way into Virginia?

This info originally came from a memo to the surrounding jurisdictions to change the programming
in their radios for bordering police districts from other counties so they don't end up on the wrong
talk group when they switch zones.

If you could upload these to the Wiki, it would be much appreciated. I have made several attempts to upload them here both individually and as a .zip, but each attempt has failed, and I can not upload directly to the Wiki because it doesn't like the underscore in my log in ID.

I've already uploaded the map that Ken had - it's much better just to add the link that has the maps - this way when/if the map changes on the website, we don't end up having to re-upload too
