Can someone tell me how to change a system's type on the fly using the keypad? I had an EDACS system set up in my 396, and found it wasn't tracking properly. I had run into that before and found that the beta ARC396 software had imported a previous EDACS system as "narrow" vice "standard". Once I made the change in that case, it tracked flawlessly. Soooo, since I wasn't at home with the pc, I thought I would just go in via the keypad to check this and change it, if that was the case. However, I could not find any way to do this short of waiting until I got home and making the change via the pc. I scrolled through the Program System menu selections, and referred to the manual but could not find a way to change the system from narrow to standard once the system was in the 396 (only how to do it when doing the initial programming of a system). I must be missing something somewhere. Thanks in advance....Alan

You can't. When you program the system type, certain things are set up in the scanner to accommodate that system type. These items cannot be changed once set. Use Notepad on the USD file.

Thanks Joe. That's kind of what I thought, but just wanted to be certain I wasn't missing something obvious.

No problem. As I said, you can edit the USD files. I posted a list of the system types on the BCD396T Yahoo group. Search for M82S and the post should pop up.

I'll be adding that to the FAQ, too.
