from what i understand with the new marine radios if they hit the emergency button it send your location in an emergency on channel 70

is there software that when they hit a button it shows there location on your puter? or any other way you can see where they are, other than on the radio itself?

The data format used on marine VHF Channel 70 is called DSC (Digital Selective Calling)
Do a google search for DSC decoder. There are several programs that decode it.
