Channels/Depts not assigned a quick key

I know there are tons of threads pertaining to favorite quick keys and system quick keys. I got all of that down for the most part, however i have a different question.

What happens to all of my talk groups/Depts that are not assigned a quick key? Is it an all or nothing kind of thing if i decide to throw a quick key under a certain system?

For Example:
My primary system i listen to is Favorite list #1, System #1
Quick Key #1 is Fire stuff
Quick Key #2 is Law stuff
Then i have a bunch of public works, common nets, tac channels, etc. that i have not assigned a number to. Are these just automatically not included in my scanning unless i give them a quick key as well?

No quick key means it will be scanned.

So regardless if i have other quick keys enabled/disabled, anything not assigned a quick key and is not "avoided" will be scanned?

Yes. As long as the favorites list they are in is active.
