BC346XT: Charge off using NiMH

I have a "charge off" using NiMH with the switch on NiMH. Is there a way to fix or reset this? Thanks.

**edit** It appears that my "XT" decided to turn itself into an "XTC" all on its own.

I believe it still charges while it's on as the voltage increases on the display when plugged in. It just won't charge when it's off.

Charge off msg while NiMH selected

I don't know if you solved this problem, but mine is doing the same thing. Any ideas? Please let me know. It was fine until I switched to regular batteries for a few months then switched back to rechargeables. Maybe its a bad switch, used this radio a lot! Still love it.
